1. About the Department :
The department caters to the need of both undergraduate and post-graduate courses of the faculty and so far students were awarded M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. degree. The department published 110 research articles in different foreign and Indian journal of repute. In the field of research, the department took up research projects of clinical importance like operation of urinary calculi in bullock, study of different sutures and suturing materials etc. For diagnosis of surgical cases, a radiological unit is attached with the section. Nearly 1,50000 surgical cases in total have been treated during last several years by the department. As future projection, the endeavors to open up Ph.D. programme in the subject in near future. Besides, a modern fully equipped operation threatre is also to be established alongwith proper aseptic precautions in surgical operations.
